exposure | photostyle is owned by Tyler and Nelson, two brothers who grew up in Peoria, IL. Rachel is Tyler’s wife and the manager who makes sure everything gets done. They currently live in Springfield, IL. Beau is a friend who Nelson first met through the Central Illinois Youth Symphony. As a team of senior, baby, family and wedding photographers, we have over 16 years of professional experience at our favorite hobby turned job.
Tyler & Rachel are kindergarten sweethearts who didn’t realize it until high school. The best friends married in 2006. Tyler thinks sci-fi movies are exciting. Rachel prefers comedies. Tyler is in Medical School and plans to be a doctor in 2012. Rachel passes out at the sight of blood. Tyler holds a golf course record. Rachel “played” soccer freshman year of high school. Rachel taught preschool for a year after graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. Tyler avoids rooms of 20 toddlers at all costs. While they have many different interests and tastes, both of them love photography. Even if they aren’t on an official shoot, they can be caught taking pictures daily of baby Abigail born Oct. 28, 2009. Currently they live in Springfield, IL, but make frequent trips to Peoria, IL.

Though there was a period in Tyler’s life when he was not Nelson’s brother, there has not been a brotherless period for Nelson, as he is 3 years Tyler’s junior but 1 inch Tyler’s senior. Nelson loves to argue about discuss art whether it be music, photography, or dance. Actually not dance, just the other 2. He switched majors from French Horn Performance to Art Theory and Practice at Northwestern University. He currently is an official photographer for the Chicago Chamber Musicians, Stitch – Northwestern’s fashion magazine (photo editor), and Northwestern Magazine. He works in Chicago or downstate. Wherever you are.

Beau is our employee who doesn’t seem like a real person. He’s too perfect. He goes on most of our shoots, turns out amazing photographs the clients rave about, is friendly with everyone, and acts like doing whatever we say is his favorite thing in the world. He must just really like taking pictures. Right now he’s either helping his dad (the conductor for the Heartland Festival Orchestra) as a graphic designer and webmaster, saving someone from drowning (or getting hit by a noodle) as a lifeguard, or teaching cello lessons. He had the cover shoot for numéro magazine in Peoria with his feature on light.
