Melissa + James

Welcome to Petersburg.

Home of the 2011 IHSA State Discus Finals Second Place finisher.

And a really awesome wedding.

Why can’t every bride get ready in a room like this?

As you’ll see, this was the perfect dress for the occasion.

Meanwhile back at the ranch vineyard…

Our groom takes care of the last minute details.

And his groomsmen join him to prepare the hay bails.

(Four shots of the sky though out the day.)

I long for the 20′s and 30′s when people just dressed like this everyday.

One of my favorite groomsman pictures ever.

Rachel said “I wish we could get this one printed and put it up on our wall”… but that wouldn’t make any sense.

Detail overload!

The flowers…

The signs…

The classic literature…

The textures…

Even look at this lettering they found!

And nature decided to match the look.

After a lot of practice while out taking photos, they show off their honed skills with a kiss to start the reception.

Shortly thereafter, the brother of the groom helped himself.

This simultaneously was one of the most impressive, foolish, outrageous, dangerous, and memorable things to happen at any wedding I’ve been to.  This is only funny because no brides were harmed in the making of this .gif

The 4-man base.

And what has been my desktop background for the last 3 weeks.

Thank you for the thoroughly British experience.  After we met you at our house, I told Rachel I was really looking forward to this wedding.  It certainly did not disappoint.

ellen - this is without doubt the most beautiful wedding i have EVER seen pictures of! the dress, the suits, the flowers, the color scheme, the style, the setting, every little detail was absolutely stunning!

Adaline

Congratulations, Elisa + Abner, on the arrival of your little girl!

I like to call this the womb shot.  :)

Adaline was pretty wide awake for most of this shoot.  She got pretty drowsy during our walk to the park, though, and we were able to get a few sleeping shots thanks to Elisa’s mommy powers.  I like these 2 behind-the-scenes pictures.

Thanks so much for the honor of doing Adaline’s first photo shoot!

Sweet Adaline

Many thanks to Adaline’s equally sweet mama for putting in the effort to do a newborn shoot with a wakeful baby.  :) We had a great time with you both.  More coming soon!

Sisters

These three sisters were so sweet and so easy to photograph.  We got rained out within the first five minutes, but it worked out well, as the girls could be in a few shots then play with their toys for a break.  Thanks, Tina, for supporting Mom’s Group and bidding on our photography package!  We are so glad to have met your family, and we’re excited to show you the rest soon.

Crista Dillard - These three sisters are so adorable. I love families with 3 sisters who will grow up to be best friends. :)
