our anniversary

four years ago, tyler and i were married!

i had so much fun planning my own wedding, and i still love, love, love weddings.  people often ask if we get tired of it after photographing them so much, but each one is still special and exciting.  i have to admit i usually get teary at some point.  it’s so refreshing to see a couple in love on their most special day making a sacred commitment to each other, and i love being reminded of our day — august 5, 2006.

we have such a fun, rewarding job, and it makes it so much better still that we get to take the pictures together.

Barbara Weitz - Sorry I missed the wedding–it looked like fun.
Know you’ll be as happy in NY as you’ve been in Evanston!!

My best wishes for a long, happy, productive life together.

Love,
Barbara

Laura + DJ

Laura and DJ’s ceremony and reception were at the beautiful Kickapoo Creek Winery. The wedding was meticulously planned and a lot of fun.

Thanks so much, Laura and DJ, for being amazing to work with!

On the Job

It’s always fun to come across pictures of us taking pictures.  These aren’t glamorous by any means, but this is what we do.

Tyler with his favorite lens.

Testing the light with Beau.

Nelson and Jake in action.

Stopping traffic in downtown Chicago.

The only thing more exhausting than working a 12 hour wedding is working a 12 hour wedding while 7 months pregnant.  Both of my feet had severe charlie horses by the end of this day, but the images  from this wedding are some of my all-time favorites.

Taking a break…

We rode around downtown Chicago for 4 hours in a party bus, stopping to take pictures at different spots.  This groomsman made sure we were included in all the fun.
